This home in the hills of Encino was revitalized by swapping a dying lawn for a vibrant pollinator garden. Plants with bright, bold colors create an almost tropical feel, but without the high water bill! The design showcases how lush summer-dry gardens can be; this is a far cry from the cactus xeriscape that many imagine when they hear “drought-tolerant.”GERTMAN PROJECT
A colorful mix of California native plants and other drought-tolerant Mediterranean species complement the bold blue home and Bougainvillea hedge.MICKY LONG PROJECT
As an ecologist and bird lover, the home owner had been wanting to convert his barren lawn to a flourishing wildlife habitat for a long time. He had started working on a small section by himself before deciding that he could use some help!VERMEER VAN-HORN PROJECT
This small Atwater Village back yard needed a little revamp so that the busy family could fully enjoy their outdoor space. A beautiful new concrete paver and beach pebble pathway was designed to provide access, create the illusion of more space, and integrate seamlessly with the existing concrete.WICKS ROAD PROJECT
This project consisted of a complete overhaul of both backyard and slope area to allow small, but growing family, to utilize the backyard space for entertaining and playtime for both their toddler and their two massive Leonberger dogs.
