This small Atwater Village back yard needed a little revamp so that the busy family could fully enjoy their outdoor space. A beautiful new concrete paver and beach pebble pathway was designed to provide access, create the illusion of more space, and integrate seamlessly with the existing concrete. A low-water native sedge lawn replaced the weedy grass. Along the edges, other native plants were used that can handle the dramatic shifts in light caused by the close walls surrounding the space. California lilacs, snapdragons, fuchsias, currants, and coral bells are perfect for this cozy space.
